Level 1 Dance
Teacher in Charge: Ms M. Ta'e'iloa
In this course students will explore a variety of different styles and genres such as Contemporary, Hip Hop and Cultural Dance. They will also create their own choreographies in small groups. This programme of learning includes both practical and written assessments including one external written examination at the end of the year. They will have two performance opportunities to showcase their work, the mid year and end of year show.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Students will have the opportunity to view at least one to two live performances throughout the year. Costs will given closer to the time but usually range between $20 - $30 per performance (including transportation).
Recommended Prior Learning
Students should have taken Dance at Year 9 and 10 however if this is not the case an audition process with the HOLA is an alternative pathway into the subject.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
This course is approved for University Entrance.
Total Credits Available: 20 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 4 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 16 credits.
