Level 1 Media Studies
Course Description
Students will learn how elements of print advertising are used to create meaning, and analyse their affect on audiences, before overseeing a production project from script to screen. This includes: writing a script, pre-production design and planning, filming and editing a video on Adobe Premier Pro. Students will also undertake a comprehensive study into the characteristics, codes and conventions of the ‘Superhero’ film genre.
Work produced by students will be showcased to the school in a celebration of their mahi.
This course provides students with literacy credits.
Recommended Prior Learning
Open entry but a strong command of reading and writing is essential as this course is theory based.
Students *MUST* have an interest in film, television, and media in general.
