Level 2 English: Sports & Leadership

Students will explore the concepts of sports, games, and leadership through English. Learning will include a focus on the psychology, community, and physical experience of sports and games as represented in films, books, poems, and oral texts etc. Students will also create texts that reflect their experience and knowledge of the sporting and leadership world. As part of this course students may explore ideas of leadership models, gender diversity in sports, consider how political issues and issues of equity play out on the sports field, and how sports fits within wider concepts of nationalism and culture.
