Level 2 Dance

In this course students will explore a variety of different styles and genres such as Pasifika, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Gumboot Dancing. They will also create their own choreographies in small groups and develop a greater understanding of choreographic process. This programme of learning includes both practical and written assessments including one external written examination at the end of the year. They will have two performance opportunities to showcase their work, the mid year and end of year show.
Recommended Prior Learning
This is an open entry course however students will need to have some Dance experience in order to achieve in this course.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Students will have the opportunity to view at least one to two live performances throughout the year. Costs will given closer to the time but usually range between $20 - $30 per performance (including transportation).
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
This course is approved for University Entrance.
Total Credits Available: 18 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 4 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 14 credits.
