Level 2 High Performance through Sport

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Miss C. Hunter.

In High Performance through Sport our passion for sport brings us together but our values drive us towards excellence in all areas. We stand for hard work, good people, keeping it humble and R.E.W.A hard. You will get a variety of opportunities to develop the skills, knowledge and mindset required to be a high performance athlete including in class experiences, trips, and working with outside providers.

This is a double line course and you will also be in an HPS kaitiaki class. 02HPS is fully internally assessed and leads to 03HPS, which is both university approved and can be linked to the trades programme. If you are interested in taking this course choose it as one of your options - if you are not accepted you will be informed and will be able to choose new options. We suggest you choose 02PED as your back up option as this will also assist you in meeting your goals.

Selection criteria – there will be several elements that will be considered before getting accepted in to HPS. Things that will be considered: performance in 01HPS and sports teams, regional representative teams, coach recommendations, aspirations/goals, fitness levels appropriate to your sport, and how you individually demonstrate our values.

Cannot be taken with 02LPE, 02OED and 02PED.
