Level 2 Te Reo Maaori
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr T. Tangitu.
This course allows students to further develop towards tertiary study in te Reo Maaori. This course requires the aakonga to complete 3 Internal Achievement Standards and at least 1 External Achievement Standard. Two of the Internal Standards are worth 6 credits each, with the other worth 4 credits and the two External Standards 6 worth credits each. All are Literacy credits, with both Writing and Reading Standards also classed as University Entrance Literacy credits. Therefore the aakonga can gain Level 2 Literacy and UE Literacy by undertaking this course. The Curriculum level taught covers all the skills required to think, work independently and increase spoken language in less familiar settings using all the language modes - listening; speaking; reading and comprehension; and writing.
