Level 2/3 English: Language and Identity
Course Description

This course analyses the significant relationship between language and personal, cultural, and social identity as we consider how language and identity are inextricably linked in a range of local and global contexts.
This course offers a combination of Level 2 and 3 credits that include UE literacy and a UE-approved subject based on students' needs.
This course is designed to meet the needs of students who require Level 1 and 2 Literacy credits but also want to work towards a Level 3 English program. This might include:
- Students who are working towards Level 2
- Students who are transitioning from an ELL or reception course
- Students who are still working towards UE literacy and need opportunities for reading and writing credits
- Students who are new to NCEA and need Level 1 and Level 2 literacy
- Students who need additional support and scaffolding to learn in English
