Level 3 Tourism
Course Description

This course is designed for students who want to pursue a career in New Zealand's expanding tourism sector, one of New Zealand's largest employers. In this course, students will be able to research tourism destinations (regions) such as the South Pacific, Europe, Americas, Asia and Middle East. Students will also develop their knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry. You can attend workshops and courses with some tertiary tourism providers such as the New Zealand School of Tourism (NZST) and International Travel College (ITC). There is a Trades Tourism Waananga for Year 13 Tourism students only. If you choose this Waananga, you will earn extra credits and learn important topics about tourism. You will also be given the opportunity to take part in several day excursions that involve tourism focused activities. Exciting times are ahead.
Course Overview
Term 1
You will begin exploring the amazing Te Reo Maaori Greetings and Farewell assessment that will have you connect with Aorearoa.
Term 2
The second assessment is Tourism Industry, this is an introduction and recap of all the sectors within the tourism industry.
Term 3
The Cultural natural and man-made Assessment Tourism Maaori. Exploring the history of Tangata Whenua.
Online assessments, which you will use the program set for you and gain up to 10 plus credits.
Term 4
Recap and catch up OR choose to gain more credits.
Plan your career - this is a new assessment that can enhance and hopefully, keep you excited about your future goals and plannings.
