Students who take this course:
- will analyse a range of health issues in our school community, New Zealand and worldwide.
- will investigate a range of health practices and how they are used to treat a health issue in NZ.
- will engage in ethical arguments and discussions in relation to health related issues and their effect on self, others and society.
- will analyse an International Health Issue and how it affects a specific population in the world and Health Promotion will also be studied which will be assessed externally.
There is an emphasis on analysing the affect these issues have on the well-being of individuals, others and society and how they relate to the underlying concepts of the New Zealand HPE curriculum.

On-track to gain at-least 12 credits from 02HEA or Level 2 Social Sciences subject or English (including 1 external from the aforementioned subjects) OR HOS/HOLA approval.
