Level 3 Information Technologies

This replaces 03CSM and 03DCT and is now renamed Level 3 Information Technologies . This course is UE subject approved and will focus on the creative and communication side of Digital Technologies such as:
- Social Media Management
- Creating your own YouTube and Vimeo channels
- Making a Video tutorial
- Innovative Web Development
- App development
- Interactive Newsletters and Electronic Brochures
- 3D Printing
- Advanced to professional Microsoft Office Admin Skills
Students will work towards designing and developing an innovative and interactive website. Students will follow a design process to create a technological outcome from brief development through to implementing their design.
They will continue to use computer programming languages such as PYTHON, HTML, CSS, PHP and user interface design. Students will create a technological outcome based on their chosen context where they have identified a need or opportunity with their client.
They will carry out this project throughout the year and will gain real-life industry experience. This course is suitable for students who are considering further education in the area of computer graphic design, software engineering and coding.
Student will learn how to prepare a research towards the completion of a YouTube video tutorial outcome

Conduct a critical inquiry to propose a digital technologies outcome
Student will learn how to use complex to advanced techniques such as Java Script to create a dynamic web design for mobile, desktop devices and interactive newsletters.
AS91903 v1 4 credits
Use complex techniques to develop a digital media outcome
A continuation from term 2 students will learn how to create either a web design, apps or internet-based newsletters.
AS91907 v1 6 credits
Use complex processes to develop a digital technologies outcome
Students will demonstrate the advantages of their digital outcome.
AS91909 v1 3 credits External UE Literacy
Present a reflective analysis of developing a digital outcome
Recommended Prior Learning
12 credits 02DCT or 02CSM, or 19 credits 01DCT or with approval from HOLA DIgital.
