Course Description

This course is designed for students who would like to pursue a career in New Zealand's expanding tourism sector which is one of New Zealand's largest employers. In this course, students will gain the opportunity to research travel destinations such as the South West Pacific and Australia. Students will also develop their knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry. There may also be an an opportunity for some students to attend a field trip to Rotorua in Term 3, where students will be able to experience Rotorua as a tourist destination by visiting hotels and participating in some of the unique activities Rotorua has to offer. You will have the opportunity to attend workshops with some tertiary tourism providers such as the New Zealand School of Tourism (NZST) and International Travel College (ITC).  These opportunities will provide you with more experience and credits. Exciting times ahead. 

Course Overview

Term 1
Very first assessment is Tourism Industry, this is an introduction and recap of all the sectors within the tourism industry.

Term 2
You will begin exploring the amazing Te Reo Maaori Greetings and Farewell assessment that will have you connect with Aorearoa.

Term 3
Online assessments, which you will use the program set for you and gain up to 10 plus credits.

Term 4
Recap and catch up OR choose to gain more credits.
