Course Description

This course is a full year junior course. It is designed to meet the English language learning needs of Year 10 English language learners. It is compulsory for the students who do not reach the benchmark for  stage 3 of ELLP (English Language Learning Progressions) at the end of Year 9.

To ensure that students develop familiarity with the topics, texts and task types they encounter in mainstream English classrooms and to be confident learners, this course will continue to give support in their study skills and literacy skills. Students will increase their understanding of word meaning and usage, English grammar and language skills needed in the curriculum areas.

Recommended Prior Learning

HOLA ESOL recommendation.
