Course Description

This is a great introductory course that can be used to explore future course choices in the Technology and Trades Academy Learning Areas. The course covers both Construction (wood work) and Engineering (metal work) therefore increasing your option choices for Level 2 courses. This is a practical based course and credits are gained by successfully completing several projects and accompanying theory booklets. Students will complete projects (or builds) which will help them develop the necessary skills in TCE and help them on their career pathway. They can also keep the product they make. Students will complete a mixture of Unit Standards and Achievement Standards. This course provides an introduction to the skills used in the Construction and Engineering industries in preparation for Level 2 Technology Construction Engineering or the Level 2 Trades Academy.
