Course Description

This course is especially designed to offer you an excellent base from which to choose a career in any practical Engineering or Building career when you leave school. 

It is different from other courses because if you select this course, all your other options are picked for you. 

You will take Mathematics, Social Sciences and a Sports Leadership course. 

There Trade Academy programme consists of:-

1) consists of 3 days in school (studying Maths, Social Science and HPE, a Project Day plus Waananga) and 2 days at various Tertiary Institutions.

Whilst at the Tertiary Institution you may study all or some of the following:- Engineering, Construction, Logistics (forklift driving, etc), Learn to Earn (Work Preparation), Leadership, Learner's License, Digital Literacy, Hospitality, Infrastructure, Painting and Decorating . 

If you work consistently, you will achieve NCEA Level 2.

Recommended Prior Learning

Students MUST be interviewed by the HOLA Technology/Trades Academy to be accepted on this course.

Pathway

This programme guides you towards a career in any of the Construction, Engineering or Logistics pathways.
There is also the possibility of work experience in the area you are interested in.
