Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs T. Lockwood

Developing Cultural Intelligence through English

Students will look at the experience of living in Australasia, Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia across time as it is represented in films, books, poems, and oral traditions etc. Students will also create texts that reflect their own experience as residents of Oceania.

As part of this course students may explore the experience of colonisation, indigenous identities, traditional vs. contemporary expressions of culture, and grappling with identity in contested and changing spaces.
