Course Description

The Year 11 Tongan Language course is designed to cater to our Tongan students who speak intermediate to advanced Tongan. The course offers 20 NCEA Level 1 credits, 10 credits are internal and 10 credits are external. The course has been designed to look at familiar contexts such as daily routines, family, school and cultural aspects, each of these will allow opportunities for students to speak, read, write and listen using the Tongan language.

This course is portfolio based: Students must submit 2 writing pieces and 2 interaction pieces to complete the portfolio. 


Recommended Prior Learning

Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Tongan language (This is not a beginners course)
