Course Description

Level 2 Physics builds on the concepts introduced in Level 1 Science (01SPC and 01SBP). Topics include Light and Waves; Classical Mechanics a research based standard that investigates a selected applications of Physics. There is also an optional Electricity and Electromagnetism standard.

Level 2 Physics is an essential step towards studying Physics at Level 3 and tertiary level.

Recommended Prior Learning

Minimum of 12 credits from Achievement Standards in Level 1 Science, or 8 credits with at least one Merit. A Merit in Mechanics 90940 is recommended. A strong grounding in Mathematics is required and students should be taking a Level 2 Mathematics course. Students not meeting these requirements can also gain entry by approval from HOLA Science.
