Students MUST be interviewed by the HOLA Technology/Trades Academy to be accepted on this course.

This course is especially designed to offer you an excellent base from which to choose a career in any practical Engineering or Building career when you leave school. 

It is different from other courses because if you select this course, all your other options are picked for you. 

You will take Mathematics, Social Sciences and a Sports Leadership course. 

There are two Trade Academy programmes at Level 2:-

1) consists of 3 days in school (studying Maths, Social Science and HPE plus Waananga),1 day at a Tertiary Institution, and a Project Day in school.
2) consists of 2 days in school (studying Maths, Social Science and HPE), 2 days at a Tertiary Institution and a Project Day in school.

The HoLA Technology/Trades Academy will discuss the most suitable programme for your specific needs.

Whilst at the Tertiary Institution you may study all or some of the following:- Engineering, Construction, Logistics (forklift driving, etc), Youth Employment Programme, Leadership, Learner's License, Digital Literacy, Hospitality, Fire Fighting, Painting and Decorating . 

If you work consistently, you will achieve NCEA Level 2.
