It is highly recommended that you already have the conversational language in both writing and speaking to ensure you get the best out of this course. This may have been achieved by speaking and communicating in Lea Faka-Tonga at home with your family regularly or completing the Level 1 Lea Faka-Tonga course.

The Tongan language and culture is important to grow in confidence to speak the language. The Lea Faka-Tonga language course will build learner confidence in conveying information, ideas and opinions in genuine contexts using the Lea Faka-Tonga language. 

Pathway

Level 3 Lea Faka-Tonga

Students who choose the Level 2 Lea Faka-Tonga could have the opportunity to take the Tongan Language further into Year 13. Career pathways for languages can consist of translator/interpreter roles, there are also opportunities for foreign language intelligence roles and language teachers.
