Course Description

This course is designed for students who would like to pursue a career in New Zealand's (soon to begin again) expanding tourism sector which was New Zealand's largest employer. before Covid-19 intervened. In this course students will gain the opportunity to research travel destinations such as the South West Pacific and Australia. Students will also develop their knowledge and understanding of the tourism Industry. There is also an optional field trip in Term 3 where students will be able to experience Rotorua as a tourist destination by visiting hotels and participating in some of the unique activities Rotorua has to offer.


Recommended Prior Learning

Minimum of 10 credits in Level 2 Tourism and 30 credits NCEA Level 2 or HOS Tourism approval.
