Year 9 Arts - Music Academy

This course is ideal for students who are keen to learn how to play and read music on a concert band instrument. It runs for the whole year, not just two terms. The instruments include flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and trombone, with the opportunity to move onto others such as French horn, tuba, bass guitar and percussion. All students will receive specialist lessons on their chosen instrument at school from top musicians who come in to do this. Students will be expected to play in the Development Band and ultimately our very successful Concert Band as they progress, enabling them to play in competitions and attend overseas trips with us.
