Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms P. Law

Students build on the knowledge and skills learned in Year 9 Japanese.

Students learn to master the writing systems of Hiragana and Katakana. They learn to talk about themselves, their friends and families, their likes and dislikes, health, sports, leisure activities, shopping and fashion. Eating and drinking and the culture of Japan are also studied.

Students also have the opportunity to gain 4 Level 1 Japanese credits.

Students continuing to study Japanese have opportunities to host Japanese exchange students and also opportunities to travel to Japan on our school exchange trips in their senior years.The next trip is scheduled for 2021. This includes a tour as well as a visit to our sister school, Takasaki Higashi High School.
