Students must actively engage in all aspects of practical and theoretical learning activities.
Year 10 Leadership through Sport focuses on building the skills and knowledge required for NCEA level 1 Physical Education. Topics include social responsibility, leading self through biophysical principles, leading others through Design a Game, sport performance and tactical games sense. Through a sports education model, students will develop communication, team work, co-operation and leadership. The course is comprised of both theory and practical assessments. This course is beneficial if you are involved in sports but not essential. You certainly need to have an interest physical activity or sport.

Level 1 Leadership through Physical Education can prepare you for any of our senior PE options. It can be a good way to see if this is a pathway you want to follow in Year 11 and beyond.
