Level 3 English

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr A. Welman

You will need a minimum of 10 credits in Level 2 English or HOLA approval. The decision is based on your performance in Level 2 English, as well as your potential.

English is highly regarded by Universities and Tertiary providers alike. To be accepted into Auckland University, without having to complete a compulsory English paper, students need to have 17 AS credits in ENGLISH. This is separate to UE Literacy and goes to show how important English, as a subject and a skill set, really is.
To get University Entrance you will need to get 12 credits in 3 subjects, and you need to achieve UE Literacy as well - if this is your goal then you need to seriously think about what subjects you are taking.

Recommended Prior Learning

This is dependent on a conversation at the start of the year, after which an appropriate course will be provided if English is a necessity for tertiary study.
